How to: Choose the right foundation

Hi everyone! Today I decided to do a how to post again. It will be about choosing the perfect foundation for yourself. I bet that almost everyone reading this met one person with an orange or too dark foundation, don’t worry we have all been there. This post wasn’t meant to insult anyone but just to teach you that with a little product you can go a long way. I understand girls with lighter skin tones that want their skin to look tanned. But you can make your skin appear darker with bronzing and it will definitelly look more natural than a darker foundation.

First and the most important step is choosing the right shade of your foundation. You should put your foundation on your neck to see if it fits you not on your hand. Because the skin on our body usually has a slightly different tone than the skin on our face and neck.

Second step is to choose the shade of the foundation in a natural light. In drugstores the light is not natural so it makes foundation look different for a shade or two.

For the third step is important to know what kind of skin type you have. If you have mixed or greasy skin type you should choose foundations that are based on water. It will give your skin that matte finish. If you have dry skin type then use foundations based on oil, because they will make your skin look healthier.

Fourth step is as important as previous ones and it is hydrating your skin before you put on your foundation. Why is that important? If you don’t your foundation will go into your pores and will make your skin look kinky. So I recommend using hydrating skin care products.

Fifth step is blending your foundation. Your foundation must be blended on your neck or otherwise you will have a line between your face and your neck.

Sixth step is not to put so much product on your face. Use just as much as you need. You can hide undereye circles and pimples with a concealer. Always remember: a little product can go a long way.

I’ll talk to you soon!
XOXO, Tajka
